What fighters! What a day! What a party!

Congratulations to participants from 60 countries who crossed the finish line in this year’s sunny edition of Jönköping Marathon & Half Marathon!

With great weather, cheering crowds along the track, a record number of runners from 60 countries took on the 21,097.5 meters and 42,195 meters long distance through beautiful Jönköping.

This year, one thousand of children who ran the MINI Jönköping Marathon also got to experience the euphoria of crossing the mighty Munksjöbron finish line and receiving a nice medal.

Jönköping Marathon - you made it

New course record at Jönköping Marathon!

2:19:30 is the new course record in Jönköping Marathon. Archibald “Archie” Casteel, who represents Spårvägens Friidrottsklubb broke the course record by almost 2 minutes. Last year Archie ran in 2:21:28 and took home first place and broke the course record then too. Second place in the men’s class was Emil Svahn representing Habo Friidrott and third place Viktor Gustafsson from Falu IK Friidrott The winner in the women’s class was Ina Ehlers from Stenungsund, who ran to the finish line in 3:01:01. Second was Marina Guzmán Hentschel from Germany (3:02:19) and third Mimmi Svensson from Apladalens LK (3:08:54)

Jönköping Half Marathon

The half marathon distance was won by Kim Oskarsson from Enhörna IF in 1:10:16. Second was IKHP’s Hjalmar Selskog (1:15:33) and third his club mate Jonathan Mourtada in time 1:16:38.

In the women’s class, Wilma Nilsson, IFK Växjö won in 1:21:48, second was Isabel Lindbom (1:24:14) and third Fanny Ahlfors, who ran to the finish line in 1:26:16.

Relay, sprint prize and team competition

The relay was new for this year and the winners in each class were: marathon MEN – Hestra Panthers (3:03:31), marathon WOMEN – Spring i city (3:41:56), marathon MIXED – Dubbel-duon (3:05:53) and marathon COMPANY – Grant Thornton Jönköping Lag 2 (3:20:41). Half marathon DAM – Svett och Plåga AB (2:35:14), half marathon MIXED – Snabbare än Wifi (1:59:08) and half marathon FÖRETAG – Veprox (1:46:20).

The fastest sprint was by Martin Funck, who crossed the finish line at Munksjöbron in 17.1 seconds and won the Mizuno sprint prize.

The best at estimating their final times were team Schröders who have thus won the team competition and will each receive a running watch from Polar.
