We at Jönköping Marathon care about your privacy. This policy describes how we handle personal data for our participants in the Marathon/Half Marathon, 10K/5K, Relay and Children’s Race.
1. What data do we collect?
We collect the information you provide when you register:
- Identity data: Name, surname, date of birth and gender.
- Contact details: e-mail address and telephone number.
- Relay: For relay teams, we only collect contact details for the team captain. For other runners in the team, only the team name and the chosen class are saved.
- Children’s race: We collect the child’s name and year of birth and the e-mail address of the guardian.
- Other info: City, nationality, club/company, estimated finishing time, t-shirt size and possible participation in the VSM. Personal number is optional for wellness contribution.
2. Why do we need your data?
We process your data in order to:
- Manage your application and communicate important information.
- Carry out timekeeping and results reporting.
- Media: We take photos and videos during our races. These images and videos may be used in our marketing, on social media and on our website to spread joy and inform about our events.
3. Who do we share the information with?
- Race timer: For timing and official results lists (name, gender, year of birth, club and team name).
- Destination Jönköping: Anonymized statistics on nationality and place of residence.
- Swedish Athletics Federation: When participating in the World Championships, the necessary data is shared for official statistics.
4. Storage and Disposal
We will keep your data for as long as it is needed to administer the race or as required by law (e.g. the Accounting Act). Results lists are kept as part of the historical archive of the race.

You have the right to request an extract, correction or deletion of your data. You can contact us at any time at info@jonkopingmarathon.se to object to direct marketing or the use of images where you are identifiable.
